On March 15th, The Miami Media and Film Market (MMFM) / CAMACOL co-hosted its first live Miami Animator Recruitment workshop with The Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex (MAGIC) at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus. Dozens of animators showed up to learn all about MMFM’s new Miami Animation & Training Incentive Program. The program is sponsored by The City of Miami ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act Recovery State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds District One) and in partnership with CareerSource South Florida.
MDC MAGIC, which is also the official training and educational partner for the program provided its state-of-the-art facilities in downtown Miami as the venue for the first workshop, where junior animators and MAGIC seniors learned first hand how they could become part of this exciting new animation and gaming program, which provides additional, no-cost training, and other professional opportunities for up-and-coming Miami based animators and game developers.
In particular, the animators learned how to register for the new Creatives Miami platform, the official portal for showcasing some of the most promising animation and game development talent in Miami. Registering for the Creatives Miami platform is the first essential step for participating in the new program, which also offers financial incentives for animation and gaming companies looking to work with qualified Miami based animators as part of MMFM’s partnership with CareerSource South Florida.
